In today’s blog post, I will share a few tidbits about my former website and some recent happenings.

Reclaimed Textual Creations Domain

You may recall that I closed my Textual Creations business back in 2024, or thereabouts, and gave up my website domain address. To my horror, some unsavory “people” snapped it up and turned it into an escort site. Because of that, I felt that any previous reference to Textual Creations would be tainted, so I removed all my previous work that showed a connection. It was a painful lesson to learn.

Fast-forward to this year. About a month ago, I found out that the escort site had released my textualcreations.ca domain name, so I snapped it up and reestablished my Textual Creations website. So far, it just has a landing page and a link to my One Man’s Meandering site, but I will likely add some of the former material back, or perhaps something new.

Reloaded Design Talks to YouTube

Because the textualcreations.ca domain belongs to me again, and I am no longer afraid of people seeing links to it, I decided to reload my Design Talks on YouTube. I was so disappointed when I removed them before, so uploading them again has made me very happy.

Contact Page for One Man’s Meandering

I decided to add a contact page to my One Man’s Meandering website. This will allow viewers to contact me to leave comments or make requests that they might not want to leave in the more public comments section of a blog post.

2026 Review of Along the Way: A Journey of One

I made a 2026 edition of my very first book, Along the Way: A Journey of One. It was great fun to create a new foreword and cover. I made numerous edits to spelling and punctuation but kept the full text as it was originally written. I removed only one or two short paragraphs that I felt left something to be desired, and I added a few 2026 notes to show how my thinking has changed since then. I still feel that the book is very good, but excessively long. I might consider sharing a digital copy with anyone who is interested. Use the Contact Form to request it.

New Office Chair

I’m sad to say that the other day, while sitting in my office, I was using a client chair at my desk that I had been using for the last couple of years. The chair had no wheels, and when I went to shift it to the right without standing up first, the legs broke and over I went with a big crash to the floor. Denise came running, only to find me in a heap on the floor with chair parts under and on top of me. I was laughing the whole time at the absurdity of it all. The only thing that got hurt was my dignity, so I was able to get back up and assess the situation. I couldn’t believe how small the welds on the chair were or how easily the legs had torn away from them.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to find an office chair for big and tall people within a reasonable budget? Well, as you can imagine, it is usually not easy at all!

I assumed that I would need to get another client chair, and I hoped to find one with a higher weight capacity. I headed to Staples and struck out. Next, I went across the street to Source Office Furniture, where I had purchased the client chair before, and was surprised to see two big and tall office chairs with wheels. I tried both and liked one better. To my surprise, they had it in stock, so I loaded one up and headed home. It required some assembly, but that went just fine. I should mention that the chair cost $450.00 with tax. That’s quite a price tag, but still cheaper than many I had seen online. I was so nervous using it for the first two days, but I am now confident it should last for a while.
